5 Tips to Take Perfect Pet Photos for Christmas

As the holiday season approaches, there are going to be many moments where you'll want to take pictures with your pet. Of course, if you've ever tried to take a staged photo of your pet you've probably realized that it can be a bit challenging. Here at The PetCot Company, there's nothing we love more than photos of your favorite furry friend, so we've got a few tips to help make them easier to capture.

Keep Distractions to a Minimum

To get the best photos of your furry friend, you'll want to keep distractions from being, well, distracting. Find a place to take photos where you pet won't have to work extremely hard on concentrating. Places like the park, around busy roads or events will take away from their focus, making it harder to achieve the photos you want and add stress to the activity.

Try Lifestyle Photos

While a nice posed photo is great every once in a while, try some lifestyle shots, too! Show off your furry friends personality, and the way they interact with you, your children or other pets. It will bring a smile to your face when you look back at the photos and see your pet romping through the leaves!

Watch the Lighting

You'll want to beware of using flash when taking your pets photos. Have you ever used it and noticed they get the green eyed "demon" look? This is caused by the flash, and can be eliminated when you just use the right lighting. Try taking them outside or posing them by a window to help get natural light and show off those pretty eyes!

Grab Their Attention - Appropriately

With many pets, if you call their name to get their attention, they end up bounding towards you - which isn't convenient when you have them posed for their photo. Try using a toy that squeaks or clapping your hands to get their attention without making it sound like you want them to "come."

Keep it Short and Sweet

Finally, keep it short and don't wear your furry friend out too much. It's hard enough for humans to sit still for a photo for long periods of time, much less your pet. Don't forget to be patient, as well. While your pet loves to please you, they don't always know exactly what you want. When they aren't cooperating they could just be feeding off of your anxiety to make everything work. Try getting in the photos, rolling around with your pet, and realize that they will be perfect no matter what.

Christmas Time!

While you're making plans for Christmas cards, don't forget to start planning your pet's Christmas wish list! We're sure if you asked them, a raised pet bed would be at the top of the list! It's a comfortable bed that is perfect for young and old alike, while also being easy to clean and store - which you will like! The Care and Keeping of Your PetCot

Have you ever purchased a pillow bed for your pet, only to realize a few weeks down the road that you can hardly bare to touch it? You’re not alone if you feel like your dogs bed gets absolutely filthy, but now the question is, how are you going to clean it? Imagine being able to just spray it with a mild cleaner and wipe it off! That’s exactly what you can do with a PetCot raised pet bed - it’s simply that easy.

The PetCot Company wanted to make a bed that was not only pet friendly but owner friendly as well. This is why our beds are extremely comfortable, but sleek in design and VERY easy to clean. Here are a few ways you can care for your PetCot bed appropriately, and how we continue to help you long after you’ve bought your bed.

Caring & Cleaning

No more washer or dryers to clean dog beds! Woven, vinyl-coated polyester fabric is breathable, will not puddle water and dries quickly and odor-free. It's durable and breathable, and provides dogs with a healthy, cool environment.

If you only need to achieve a quick clean, you can turn the bed on it's side to dump any hair or dirt off. The woven vinyl also gives you the ability to easily sweep it off. If you're looking for a deeper clean, you can hose it off and use a mild cleaner or disinfectant to remove germs and bacteria.

The best part is, the PetCot won't need cleaned as much as an ordinary pet bed anyway! The sleek design means that you aren't providing a breeding ground for germs and bacteria. You can go longer in between cleanings, and when you do have to clean its VERY easy.

Replacement Parts

While our beds are extremely sturdy and made to last, there are occasionally a few times where a pet owner may find that something on their pet bed has broken. Thankfully, we sell all of the replacement parts on our website so you can have your bed back up and running in no time - or should we say "laying down and sleeping"? ;)

The Best Elevated Dog Bed

At the PetCot Company, we take pride in the products that we provide for your family - specifically your furry family. Our pet beds are comfortable, sturdy, easy to clean, and the favorite pet bed in many homes. If you are ready to take the next step to having the best pet bed, visit our website to learn more. 2 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats,
1/2 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
1/2 cup fresh mint, finely chopped
1 large egg (see tip below for dogs with allergies to chicken products)
